In one of the truly classic John Wayne films, Wayne portrays a wounded gunslinger who is taken in by a Quaker family and nursed back to health by their daughter (Gail Russell). While there, the girl's lifestyle affects him and makes him question the way he lived his former life. It was a deep performance for Wayne and it would make this one of his best films.
