This is the Stunning Style B Half Sheet Movie Poster for the 1948 Re-release of this Classic Horror Masterpiece!

As with many vintage half sheets, there were two Styles produced to promote this film in 1948.  A Style A and Style B (what we are offering here).  The Styles B is much more Rare as only one or two are known to exist.  Also, the Style B has superior graphics and artwork. . 

The style A which has appeared for sale a few times, has only the large head of Karloff with a small relatively indistinguishable image of Bela Lugosi as he is pointing under the guillotine, but missing the Style B ever amazing large stunning image of Lugosi with a gun taking up about 30% of the poster on the right.   Also this style B has an extra image of Karloff behind the small Lugosi image, which is Not on the style A half sheet.

This half sheet from Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi's "The Raven" is nothing short of spectacular. After the incredible success of 1934's "The Black Cat," Carl Laemmle brought the kings of horror together for another adaptation of an Edgar Allan Poe tale of terror. This film had as many creepy obsessions as the prior film had, complete with torture chambers; one wonders how the film made it past the censors at the Hays Commission. In this outing, Lugosi was the villain while Karloff is the sympathetic gangster carved up by the diabolical surgeon.

Making its Heritage debut is this terrifically terrifying half sheet for the 1948 rerelease of the 1935 Universal picture, The Raven. Loosely based on the poem of the same name by one of America's most macabre writers, Edgar Allen Poe, and starring two of the studio's most notable actors, Boris Karloff of The Mummy and Frankenstein and Bela Lugosi of Dracula, this picture was destined for horror greatness.

Condition:  Very Good 100% Original UN-restored Condition. . Striking Bright unfaded Colors...  Showing some wear, this poster contains edge and fold wear, creases, smudges and scuffs and stains.  Has several pieces of paper tape on back mostly along the border.    
* Personally I like the vintage look and expected wear over its nearly 80 year life span, as it adds a nice layer of authenticity.  However,  a basic linen backing and minor restoration would result in an amazing flawless looking vintage horror masterpiece!
