RARE Original Vintage Movie Theater Poster Lobby Card (11x14") Starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Raymond Burr "The Dream Scene!"
Is this one of the Holy Grails for Hitchcock and Classic Suspense Collectors?
* In 1954 when Paramount released the Hitchcock masterpiece "REAR WINDOW" and the studio's advertising department that produced the posters and lobby cards for the American market, missed the boat on the ultimate masterpiece lobby card, that the Spanish market lobby card artists would capitalize on. The masterpiece lobby card art that would stun the Spanish market. A breath-taking image of Jeff Jeffries (James Stewart) with an iconic image of the "Killer' (Raymond Burr) reflecting in his telescopic camera lens.
About 3 years ago I discovered a most stunning original vintage publicity photo for the Hitchcock masterpiece, “Rear Window” in which Jimmy Stewart is sitting in his voyeur position with his telescopic camera lens focused in on Raymond Burr. The first thing I thought when I saw the vintage photo, is how amazing it would have been if the Paramount studio produced a lobby card with this exact image.
I knew the American lobby card set had no such lobby card. So I was astonished when for the first time since I started collecting in 1980, that such a Jaw dropping lobby card DID exist, released in 1954 for the Spanish market. However, this Ultra Rare Original lobby card had never appeared on the market (based on my research) until now!
Not only is the image breathtaking but even the stunning rich Colors are superior to the US Lobby Card set. When I saw this pop up for sale, I could NOT imagine NOT Owning it!
